In Memory of Arden (and the other guide dogs in Bruce's life) Arden was born on June 9, 1999. For the first year of his life, he was "puppy walked" in the 4H program in Carson City by Michelle Friend. He graduated with Bruce on December 16, 2000. Arden died in harness, January 23, 2007. He was Bruce's third guide dog following Kappa and Solomon. Both Kappa and Solomon had the wonderful retirement life they so deserved after years of service to Bruce. Arden's sudden death, in harness on the sidewalk of Vancouver has robbed Bruce of the hope that Arden would enjoy his approaching retirement. The next 3 photos are tributes to Bruce's partners in harness: Kappa graduated with Bruce on July 20, 1985 he was raised through the 4H program by Wendy Graham.

Solomon graduated with Bruce on August 14, 1993. He was raised through the 4H program by Todd Gaines.

Arden graduated with Bruce on December 16, 2000. He was raised through the 4H program by Michelle Friend, in Carson City. Arden was sponsored as a guide dog by generous donations from Bob and Sharon Bailey.

And now......meet Aurora - the next generation......
On February 24th Bruce left for Oregon to go to the Guide Dog school where he met, and trained with his new dog, Aurora. Aurora graduated with Bruce on March 10th, 2007. She was raised by Al and Sharon Zupo from Salem and Bend, Oregon. The photo to the right is their graduation photo. The photos below were taken during Aurora's first week with Bruce and family.
